Omar Salam

Omar Salam was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. He attended Marianopolis College, completing a DEC in Honours Health Science. For his honours project, Omar researched into Active and Reactive Hyperemia, which are cardiovascular autoregulation mechanisms. Always interested in the medical and healthcare field, he is pursuing a BSc. in Pharmacology at McGill University. During his time at McGill, Omar received the Alma Mater and the Alan & Harriet Susie Tenenhouse Scholarships, while being on the Dean’s Honours List. At the Bowie lab, he is investigating the evolution of the nervous system and how animals acquired the ability to communicate neuronal information at synapses, through comparison of synapses in evolutionarydistinct animals. During his free time, Omar enjoys watching sports and is an avid Montreal Canadiens fan!
